BBC pundit names the Chelsea star who looked 'the real deal' against Burnley
Chelsea full-back Reece James impressed as the Blues defeated Burnley 3-0 at Stamford Bridge, with the 20-year-old earning a place in Garth Crooks' team of the week
Chelsea defender Reece James has been named in Garth Crooks' team of the week after an impressive display against Burnley.
The 20-year-old put in a fine showing against the Clarets, with James creating three chances for his team-mates as the Blues won 3-0 against Sean Dyche's men.
That was more than any other Chelsea player during the game, with James providing an assist to cap off a superb display at right-back.
His performance has earned him a place in Crooks' team of the week, and the BBC pundit has spoken of just how impressed he was with the full-back with a big claim about James.
"This lad has caught my eye before and I'm not in the least bit surprised he has finally made my team," Crooks said in his weekly feature for the BBC website.
"He is starting to look like the real deal. Some of you may remember me admonishing him after Chelsea's defeat against West Ham when Aaron Cresswell got the better of him. The Chelsea youngster seems to have learned a lesson from that experience and is impressive in defence and attack."
James has now made 18 appearances for Frank Lampard's side this season, scoring two goals.
Crooks was not the only one impressed by James' performance though, with Blues head coach Lampard describing the displays from James and Callum Hudson-Odoi as "just the start."
